Finch & Toad has been working with a range of clients for over 10 years. We love nothing more than helping you fall back in love with a tired piece of furniture, preserve those pieces that hold meaning and add a touch of ‘Hygge’ to the way you live.
We specialise in antique and mid-century traditional upholstery methods using hessian, tacks and natural fillings such as coir. Modern upholstery commissions are also welcome - no job is too small. We enjoy working on a range of pieces and provide upholstery services that range from simply a re-covering of fabric to a complete rebuild and restoration.
We are well-equipped to work on anything you need help with, such as footstools, headboards, dining chairs and armchairs. We also offer bespoke commissions of lampshades, cushions and French mattresses made to specification.
FABRIC & DESIGN
EXPERT GUIDANCE FOR YOUR MUCH-LOVED PIECES
Lee can guide you through suitable options of fabric for your project. This is important when deciding on durable and long-lasting material best suited to your furniture to ensure it fits in with how it will be used and where it will reside. All of our upholstery services include a bespoke consultation, design ideas and guidance on fabric. We have sample books for Designers Guild, St Judes Fabrics , Abraham Moon, Becca Who, Warwick, Crest Leather, Futura Leather, Linwood, Swaffer and others.
HOW MUCH
DOES IT COST?
We always provide an estimate of work initially. It is quite difficult to place an exact price on every piece until we remove the top fabric. We like to provide our customers with a minimum to maximum estimate of overall costs to work by.
Feel free to send an image of your project in order to receive a bespoke quote. For larger pieces we'll need to see in person, we can provide a free home visit.

Re-cover Only
This service includes the re-covering of a piece that remains in good order. Lee will be able to guide you on the most suitable fabrics to choose from. Below is an outline of some general prices to give you a guide but please note that each project is quoted individually due to the varied nature of upholstery work and the uniqueness of each and every piece of furniture.
